What to expect.
A realistic plan, not overnight promises.
Your words, not a template.
Qotler starts by reading your website and drafting your product brief, ideal customer, competitors and brand voice. You correct anything that's off, and every expert uses your version from then on.
Connect Search Console and Analytics and the experts know which pages and searches matter for your business. Upload sales notes or customer feedback and they write in your customers' own words.
Where store growth stalls.
Six problems we see in almost every independent store, and why most of them are fixed once in a template, not product by product.
Category pages with no words
A heading and a grid of products. Shoppers search category terms (“waterproof hiking boots women”), and a page with nothing to read gives Google little reason to rank it.
Supplier copy everywhere
The same description appears on dozens of other stores. It doesn't answer sizing, materials, care or “will this fit my use?”, which are the questions that decide a purchase.
Missing or broken product markup
Without valid price, availability and review markup, your listings show up as plain blue links while competitors get prices and stars in search results. Assistants read this data too.
Slow mobile pages
Oversized images, app scripts and heavy themes push Core Web Vitals into the red on mobile, where most shoppers browse. Slow pages lose both rankings and buyers.
Thousands of filter URLs
Every colour, size and sort option can create a new URL. Google spends its time on near-duplicates while your real category pages wait, and out-of-stock pages pile up.
Shoppers ask Reddit and AI first
“Best rain jacket under $200” goes to a subreddit or an assistant before a search engine. Those answers lean on Reddit threads and review roundups, and your products aren't in them.
Who matters most, and their first move.
For a store, search does the heavy lifting. AI answers and Reddit matter because that's where shoppers ask for recommendations. X helps if your brand already has a following there.
SEO Expert
Why it matters here
Category and product pages are your storefront in search. Small template fixes reach every product at once, which is where the leverage is.
What it does first
- Splits Search Console data by page type: categories, products, guides
- Finds category pages sitting in positions 5–15 with low click rates
- Checks product structured data and Core Web Vitals on each template
What you'll see
Up to three fixes, usually one category rewrite and one template fix that covers many products, each with the evidence.
AI Visibility Expert
Why it matters here
Shoppers ask assistants “what's the best [product] for [use]?” and get a short list of brands. If your products aren't on it, the shopper never visits.
What it does first
- Builds shopping questions for your main categories from Mind and Search Console
- Asks them across assistants and records which brands and products are named
- Lists the sources cited: roundups, Reddit threads, brand pages
What you'll see
A baseline per category, and the page change most likely to get you named, such as a buying guide or clearer product facts.
Reddit Expert
Why it matters here
Buying-advice threads are some of the most trusted recommendations online, and assistants often cite them. A useful reply from someone who knows the product category stands out.
What it does first
- Maps buying-advice communities for your categories
- Notes each community's rules on sellers
- Shortlists threads where you can genuinely help
What you'll see
Draft replies that answer the question, including other brands where they fit better, and disclose that you sell the product when you mention it.
X Expert
Why it matters here
Useful for launches, drops, restocks and behind-the-scenes stories when your brand has an audience on X. A lower priority for most stores than search.
What it does first
- Turns your next drop or restock into a short post
- Finds behind-the-scenes stories in Mind: sourcing, design, testing
- Suggests a light, steady pace
What you'll see
A few drafts a week at most, posted only after your approval.
Your first quarter.
A realistic first quarter for an independent store with a few hundred products and some search traffic.

One week with Qotler.
An example week for an outdoor-gear store with about 400 products. Every number here is an example, not customer data.
- SEO refreshes the dataExample: /collections/rain-jackets appeared in 3,900 searches last week at position 7.4 with a 0.9% click rate. 112 product pages have no availability in their structured data. PageSpeed shows the product template loading its main image in 4.3s on mobile.
- AI Visibility asks this week's questionsExample: “best rain jacket for hiking under $200” names four brands, not yours. The most cited sources are a Reddit thread and a review roundup.
- Three suggestions arrive1. Rewrite the rain-jackets title and add a short intro on how to choose. 2. Add availability to the product template's structured data, fixing all 112 pages at once. 3. Serve correctly sized images on the product template.
- Reddit finds the threadsExample: three recent threads asking for rain jacket recommendations. One is a real fit for a product you sell.
- You decideYou approve fixes 2 and 3 and ask for changes to the category intro. You edit the Reddit draft, which recommends two jackets including one of yours, and says so.
- One pull requestCoding opens a single small pull request to your theme repository covering both template fixes. You review it.
- Merged and verifiedYou merge. Qotler checks a sample of live product pages, confirms the markup and image changes are there, and keeps before snapshots.
- Speed re-checkedExample: PageSpeed shows the main image now loading in 2.4s on mobile.
- Waiting for GoogleGoogle has re-read some changed product pages; their result windows start. The rest are marked “waiting”.
- Last month's resultsExample: a title batch on 40 products shows +210 clicks over 28 days against unchanged products that stayed flat. A category rewrite is still “too early”, and the report says so.
How each channel works for stores.
The specific plays Qotler runs for ecommerce, what you do, and how each is measured.
Category page SEO
Category pages usually have the biggest search demand in a store, because shoppers search for the type of product before a specific one. They need more than a grid:
- A title that matches how people search: “Women's Waterproof Hiking Boots”, not “Footwear – Collection 3”.
- A short intro above or below the grid that helps someone choose: what to look for, the main differences, who each kind suits.
- An FAQ from real customer questions, with FAQ structured data.
- Links to related categories and a buying guide, so Google and shoppers can find their way around.
The SEO Expert starts with categories that already appear in positions 5–15, because those are closest to more clicks.
Product page SEO
Rewriting hundreds of descriptions at once is slow and risky. Qotler works in batches: the products with the most impressions first, using a pattern you approve once, then rolls it out.
- Original descriptions that answer the buying questions: materials, sizing, fit, care, what it's best for and what it isn't.
- Titles with the attributes people search for (type, material, size range), without stuffing.
- Image alt text that describes the product.
- Variant pages handled carefully, so colours and sizes don't compete with each other.
Content writes from your catalogue information and the documents you add to Mind. It won't invent specifications, and it flags anything it can't confirm.
Structured data
Structured data tells search engines and assistants exactly what a page sells. It's fixed in templates, so one change covers every product.
| Markup | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Product with price and availability | Product pages | Makes listings eligible to show price and stock in search results |
| Ratings and reviews | Product pages, only when real reviews show on the page | Can show stars in results |
| Breadcrumbs | Category and product pages | Clearer results and site structure |
| FAQ | Category pages and buying guides | Clear answers assistants can quote |
| Organization | Home page | Connects your brand name, logo and profiles |
Coding adds or fixes markup in a pull request. Markup always matches what's visible on the page; Qotler won't mark up ratings you don't have.
Core Web Vitals
Google's Core Web Vitals measure loading (LCP, good at 2.5 seconds or less), responsiveness (INP, good at 200 milliseconds or less) and visual stability (CLS, good at 0.1 or less). Stores usually fail on mobile for the same few reasons:
- Hero and product images far larger than the screen needs.
- Scripts from apps you no longer use, still loading on every page.
- Pop-ups and banners that push content down as the page loads.
- Fonts and sliders that block the first view.
The SEO Expert reads PageSpeed Insights for each template, proposes the specific fix, and re-checks after it ships. Removing apps is your call; Qotler tells you what each one costs in load time.
Filters and out-of-stock pages
Filter and sort options can create thousands of near-duplicate URLs. The fix is a clear rule: which filtered pages deserve to be found (for example “black running shoes”), and which should point search engines back to the main category.
For out-of-stock products: if it's coming back, keep the page live with a restock date and alternatives. If it's gone for good, redirect to the closest replacement or the category. Qotler proposes the rules; you approve them.
AI shopping answers
Assistants recommend products from sources they trust: buying guides, review roundups, Reddit threads and brand pages with clear facts. The AI Visibility Expert tracks shopping questions per category and closes gaps with specific changes:
- A buying guide per main category that answers “which one should I get?” honestly.
- Product facts (materials, dimensions, price, who it's for) stated plainly on the page and in structured data.
- AI crawlers able to read your catalogue pages.
Reddit buying-advice threads
People ask for product recommendations on Reddit and trust the answers because they come from users, not ads. The Reddit Expert finds threads where you can genuinely help and drafts replies that answer the question first, mention other good options, and disclose that you sell the product when you mention it. Many communities restrict sellers; the expert notes each one's rules and skips threads where a reply would read as an ad. You post from your own account.
Drops and launches on X
If your brand has an audience on X, the X Expert turns new products, restocks and behind-the-scenes stories into short posts at a light, steady pace. Posts go out only after approval, and use only numbers you've confirmed.
What to measure
| Signal | Where it comes from | When it means something |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks and impressions by page type | Search Console | 28 days after Google re-reads a changed page |
| Purchases and revenue from organic search | GA4 key events | Monthly, by landing page |
| Core Web Vitals per template | PageSpeed Insights | After each speed fix |
| Products and brand named in shopping questions | AI Visibility answer snapshots | Weekly, as a trend over four weeks or more |
| How Reddit replies were received | Reddit Expert check-ins | A few days after posting |
Seasonality moves store traffic a lot. That's why Qotler compares changed pages against unchanged ones over the same period, instead of this month against last.
What Qotler won't do for your store.
The shortcuts that get stores penalised or distrusted are off the table.
It won't
- Invent reviews, ratings or “bestseller” claims
- Add structured data that doesn't match the page, such as ratings you don't have
- Generate thousands of thin pages for every keyword variation
- Change prices, discounts, stock or checkout
- Flag your cart, checkout or account pages as SEO problems
- Run or manage paid ads
- Hide that you sell the product when replying on Reddit
- Change your theme or store without your approval
What it does instead
- Uses only real reviews, shown on the page
- Keeps markup accurate and fixes it once in the template
- Improves the pages you already have, in measured batches
- Leaves commercial decisions with you
- Focuses on the pages shoppers land on from search
- Grows traffic you don't pay for per click
- Writes helpful, disclosed replies from your own account
- Opens small pull requests you review and merge
Do you connect to Shopify?
Step-by-step Shopify instructions work today, and a direct connection is coming soon.
Can it handle hundreds of products?
Yes. It fixes shared problems once for every page that has them, instead of one task per product.
Will it rewrite all our product descriptions?
Not at once. It starts with the products that get the most impressions, agrees a pattern with you, and rolls it out in batches. Each batch is measured, so you know whether it's worth continuing.
We run WooCommerce or a headless store. Does that work?
Yes. On WordPress, approved changes to your posts and pages are applied through the live WordPress connection. The GitHub connection lets Coding open pull requests against a headless storefront or theme repository. Coding opens them; you merge.
Can Qotler see our orders or customer data?
No. It reads your public pages, plus Search Console and GA4 through read-only access. If you track purchases in GA4, it sees those totals by page. It never touches your store admin, orders or customer records.
Will changes break our theme?
Every code change is one small pull request you review before merging. Qotler keeps a before snapshot of each changed page and gives you the old values if a change made things worse.
Do you run Google Shopping or other ads?
No. Qotler works on traffic you don't pay for per click: search, AI answers and communities. Product structured data does help your listings in search, whatever your ads setup.
How do you handle seasonal products?
Qotler recommends keeping seasonal categories live all year so they keep their search history, and the content calendar plans seasonal guides six to eight weeks ahead. Results are compared against unchanged pages over the same period, so a busy season isn't counted as a win.
